Ride Along Requests

The Illinois State University Police Department allows those age 18 or over to intern (unpaid), observe, or ride along with an officer, subject to department approval and a limited background check.

Those interested must complete the PDF form below and return the completed copies to the ISU Police Department in person, or by mail, email, or fax. A representative will be in contact with you to confirm approval and schedule the date(s) and times.

Due to staffing and training commitments during the fall 2026 semester, ride-along opportunities are temporarily unavailable. We appreciate your interest and encourage you to check back for future opportunities.
